Footballer's baby!
New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning is officially a dad. His wife Abby gave birth to their daughter, Ava Frances, on Monday, multiple sources confirm to UsMagazine.com. (Ex-footballer and sports blogger Chris Mortensen first announced the news, and an item in New York Post's Page Six appeared Friday.)
Ava Frances, who weighed in at 7 lbs., 4 oz., arrived slightly early: Back in February, Eli, 30, noted the baby was due in April.
It's the first child for the couple, college sweethearts at the University of Mississippi, who wed in April 2008 in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
"They are going to be great parents!" the athlete's brother Cooper Manning told Us in October. "Everyone is excited!"
Indeed, the then-future dad himself opened up to Us at a Super Bowl event in Dallas on Feb. 4. "I'm just excited for the whole experience and ready to be a dad," Manning told Us.
Page Six reports that Eli and Abby, 26, have expanded their Hoboken, NJ home — buying an additional apartment on the same floor — to make a "baby wing" for their little girl.
