She’s here! Mike “The Miz” Mizanin and wife Maryse Mizanin have welcomed a baby daughter into the world. The first-time parents revealed the news via Instagram on Wednesday, March 28, with a black-and-white photo of the new mom and dad holding their child’s hand.
“Of course our little girl arrived early,” they captioned the snap on Wednesday. “Welcome to the world Monroe Sky Mizanin 3/27/18 11:40 pm.”
The WWE stars announced that they were expecting a child — who was originally due in April — during a Monday Night Raw broadcast in September 2017. “My wife and I have been thinking long and hard about how we wanted to announce this special news,” the WWE champion, 37, told the crowd at the time. “We thought about it long and hard, and we thought there’s no better place to announce it than the first place that we met, and that is here in WWE in front of all of you. So without further adieu, my wife Maryse and I we’re, uh — go ahead, babe.”
The Total Divas star, 35, then added: “We’re having a baby!”
“There are moments in life that I will never forget. My wife placing a pregnancy test in front of me saying ‘congrats daddy’ will always be on top,” he captioned an image of them on Instagram in September. “So many emotions are running through me…happiness, excited, afraid, nervous. But one thing is for sure as with everything in my life I always give it my all and I my promise to my wife @marysemizanin and to my unborn child I will give you both my all to be the best father I can be.”
Miz continued: “I have no idea what I’m doing but I will listen, learn and love the best way I know how. Thank you to @wwe for allowing us to break the news on #Raw we wanted to announce to the world where we first met.”
The moment Maryse broke the baby news to her husband was captured in an episode of Total Divas. After he had been on the road for a few days, she sat him down in the kitchen and handed him a positive pregnancy test, and said: “Congratulations, Dad!”
“You’re kidding? Are you sure? Oh, my God!” he responded. “We weren’t even trying!”
The couple, who tied the knot in 2014, found out they were having a daughter during a gender reveal party in October.
