The Duchess of Cambridge is always on call!
With only a day's notice, Kate Middleton attended her first solo engagement in London on Wednesday, taking the place of her father-in-law, Prince Charles.
Middleton, 29, stepped in for Charles, 62, at a charity dinner for In Kind Direct at the Clarence House, because he was unexpectedly called to Riyadh to pay his respects to the Saudi Arabian Family following the death of the Crown Prince. See more pics of Kate solo from PopSugar.
"The Duchess of Cambridge was delighted to be able to step in for her father-in-law, The Prince of Wales, to celebrate the work of In Kind Direct at the dinner," a St James's Palace spokesman said.
Clad in a pale blue chiffon gown with beaded detail by British designer Amanda Wakeley and wearing her hair in a sophisticated half-up style, the Duchess mingled with 30 guests.
