As if the latest of the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them film, The Crimes of Grindelwald didn’t provide enough magic and whimsy, star Ezra Miller is here to seriously up the avant-garde fashion game for the Wizarding World crew. The star of the new film turned up at the UGC Cine Cite Bercy for the world premiere on Thursday, November 8, wearing a full-length black puffer coat dress.
The quirky statement outfit was designed by Pierpaolo Piccioli, creative director of Valentino, in a collaboration with luxury winter wear brand Moncler. And the look was definitely something. Not only did it come complete with a hybrid cape, a hood and gloves, but Miller also added a black red lip for extra flair.
Miller plays Credence Barebone in the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them franchise, a character that transforms into a swirling black Obscurus which is visually reminiscent of his premiere outfit. Could the look have been inspired by that actor’s character in the film? It’s possible. But it could also be a functional lesson in how to turn heads, look chic and stay warm in a blizzard too.
Fans on twitter were all about the outfit with one remarking, “Ezra Miller really dressed like a sassy sleeping bag last night and managed to pull it off,” and another tweeting, “Do we even deserve Ezra Miller?” We don’t deserve him, by the way.
The Crimes of Grindelwald opens in theaters on Friday, November 16.
