Sandy and Danny are together again — just in time for the holidays!
Grease costars John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John have reunited on an unexpected new project: This Christmas, a holiday-themed new album which will have the one-time screen couple singing on 13 tracks, including a brand-new duet, “I Think You Might Like It.” Written by Grease songwriter John Farrar, the song is being touted as a “sequel” to “You’re the One That I Want,” recently named the best-selling duet in pop music history.
On the album’s rather cheesy cover, Travolta, 58, and Newton-John, 64, beam, holding up cups of hot cocoa, surrounded by Christmas presents and a tree behind them.
According to a press release, the duo decided to record the album after Australian singer Newton-John texted her pal over Christmasttime.
“John and I have always connected,” she says. “That’s never gone away. When we’re together, we have a good laugh and feel bonded to one another. We’ve been through some amazing experiences together.”
“My desire was to make This Christmas an intimate album, not something too ostentatious or showy,” Travolta adds.
Proceeds from sales will go towards the stars’ charities, the Jett Travolta Foundation and the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre in Melbourne, Australia.
