Lifetime has found their Anna Nicole!
Private Practice actress Agnes Bruckner has been tapped to appear as late Playboy model Anna Nicole Smith in the network's upcoming made-for-TV movie The Anna Nicole Story, Deadline reports.
Bruckner, 27, will likely find at least one thing in common with Smith, whose early life as Vicky Lynn Hogan will be chronicled in the film. Growing up as a child model, Bruckner appeared in a beauty pageant at the urging of her mother when she was 8 years old.
Transitioning to acting at age 11, Bruckner went on to appear on television shows including The Bold and the Beautiful. She made her feature film debut as a high school student involved in an affair with her teacher in 2002's Blue Car. Bruckner was also featured in The Glass House and Murder By Numbers, costarring Sandra Bullock.
In 2011, Bruckner starred as Megan McAllister in The Craigslist Killer, also a Lifetime movie.
Smith, who gained fame as a Playboy Playmate and as a result of her E! reality show The Anna Nicole Show, died in 2007 at the age of 39 from a drug overdose. Following a dramatic paternity suit with Howard K. Stern — Smith's partner at the time of her death — Larry Birkhead was awarded custody of his and Smith's daughter, Dannielynn, 5.
