Well, that’s one way to stroll down memory lane! Monica Lewinsky‘s floor-length black negligee is just one of 32 items that are being auctioned off by Nate D. Sanders Auctions this week, the Santa Monica, Calif.-based auction house announced on Monday, June 24.
Other noteworthy memorabilia include several hand-written notes and greeting cards from the former White House intern, a letter typed on White House stationary and signed by Bill Clinton, and “three sealed and slightly crushed boxes of presidential M&Ms.”
The items are part of a collection that was submitted by Lewinsky’s former lover Andy Bleiler to special prosecutor Kenneth Starr during his investigation into the Clinton-Lewinsky affair in the late 90s, auction manager Laura Yntema told NBC News.
According to the auction website, the items were sent to the Bleiler family after the case closed, and now Bleiler’s ex-wife Kate Nason has decided to put the items up for auction.
During Starr’s investigation, it was revealed that Lewinsky and Bleiler, who was her former high school teacher, had engaged in a five-year affair. The letter in the auction lot is a letter to Bleiler that Clinton wrote and signed at Lewinsky’s request.
Yntema told NBC News that she expects the items to go for anywhere between $25,000 and $50,000. At present, there are three bids on the items for a total of $3,025.
