Katie Couric is ready to be a Mrs. again! The veteran TV journalist, 56, is engaged to boyfriend John Molner, her rep confirms to Us Weekly. The Katie talk show host and the NYC-based financier, 50, have been dating for nearly two years, although the pair didn't go public until spring of 2012.
Molner is a partner at investment firm Brown Brothers Harriman and hails from Chicago. "He's great," Couric told reporters last year. "I love Midwesterners!"
It will be the second marriage for Couric, whose first husband Jay Monahan died of colon cancer in 1998. The former Today Show co-anchor admitted to More magazine back in January of this year: "It's actually surprising to me that it has been almost 15 years and I haven't remarried. I think life is more fun when you have someone in your life."
She and Monahan shared daughters Ellie, 22, and Carrie, 17. "I always wanted a father figure for my daughters [Ellie and Carrie], but it hasn't worked out that way. I've had long-term relationships, but they haven't turned into life-long partners."
Continued the former CBS Evening News anchor, who dated another financier, Brooks Perlin, for five years before a 2011 split: "I really did love my husband a lot, but after Jay died, I always thought I'd end up like Florence Henderson on The Brady Brunch." Couric has hilariously opened up recently about not-so-successful dates with the likes of Larry King, Jeff Probst and Bob Saget, among others.
