Kanye West doesn't need help managing his anger. During a Monday, Oct. 7 hearing regarding the 36-year-old rapper's ongoing court case over an altercation with a photographer at Los Angeles International Airport in July, a judged rejected prosecutors' request to have West attend anger management classes.
According to TMZ, West's lawyer Blair Berk appeared in court Monday on his behalf. The judge ordered Kim Kardashian's boyfriend to stay 10 yards away from photographer Daniel Ramos, and advised prosecutors that they should have their client do the same. As a condition of bail, prosecutors asked that the judge order West to attend anger management classes, but the request was denied.
Ramos is suing the rapper for damages following their July 12 scuffle, but West counter-filed with his own papers, claiming he acted in self-defense. "He didn't hurt the pap," a source told Us Weekly at the time. "They were just heckling him as usual. Kanye went to grab the camera and the guy fell being so dramatic."
West was formally charged with one count of criminal battery and attempted grand theft in September. If convicted, he could face a maximum of one year in prison.
