Miranda Kerr has reached the end of the runway with husband Orlando Bloom. The Australian model and the British actor have split after three years of marriage, a source confirms to Us Weekly. "It's been a long time coming," the insider says.
A rep for Bloom confirmed the split to Us. "In a joint statement, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have announced that they have been amicably separated for the past few months," the rep said. "After six years together, they have recently decided to formalize their separation." (E! News was first to report the split.)
"Despite this being the end of their marriage," the statement continued, "they love, support, and respect each other as both parents of their son and as family."
Married since July 2010, the Pirates of the Caribbean star, 36, and the former Victoria's Secret model, 30, first started dating back in 2007. They welcomed son Flynn, now 2, in January 2011.
Kerr recently opened up about their relationship in an interview for the November issue of Cosmopolitan, telling the mag she liked to take on a traditional role at home with her husband.
"Don't feel like you have to do and be everything," she advised women. "Let the man do some things for you, because if he cares for you, he will want to."
"When I get home, I'm not the boss like I am at work — I slip into a more feminine role. I take everything off and put on my Stella McCartney silk robe. I'll put on a red lip or red nails, and it lifts my mood," she continued. "Sexy underwear also gives you a spark. I collect underwear from my travels. Lace, lingerie, bodysuits…they're like souvenirs."
She also gushed that she admired her husband's career. "When I saw Orlando on Broadway in Romeo and Juliet, I was blown away," she told the mag. "For someone to be able to learn all that and hold the energy to do it every day, six days a week — I have so much respect for him."
