Still hangin' out. Mad Men actor Jon Hamm, who is notorious for going commando while filming scenes as Don Draper, was snapped on the show's set in L.A. on Thursday appearing to continue his wayward, ahem, ways.
Wearing a pair of super-tight gray slacks, the well-endowed star attracted attention, yet again, to his rather large bulge. In March, an AMC insider told the New York Daily News that Hamm, 42, was "politely instructed" by a staffer to wear underwear while filming scenes. If Thursday's scene was any indication, it looks like the actor, who has been dating Jennifer Westfeldt since 1997, simply disregarded staffers' suggestions and decided to forego the added layer.
Season six of the Emmy-winning series was set in the 1960s, a time when menswear included tight-fitting pants. "Jon's impressive anatomy is so distracting that they politely insisted on underwear," the same source told the Daily News, while Us Weekly was told by an insider, "Costumers have their hands full."
The story grew to such epic proportions that the Golden Globe winner was even offered a lifetime supply of underwear by two underwear companies. One, Jockey, tweeted with a link to Us Weekly's story in March, "We hear Jon Hamm's too big for his britches. Jockey's offering free underpants for life to the Mad Men star."
An irate Hamm, whose privates have even sparked a popular tumblr titled Jon Hamm's Wang, actually addressed the hullaballoo over his anatomy in the April issue of Rolling Stone. "They're called 'privates' for a reason," he said. "I'm wearing pants, for f—'s sake. Lay off."
"But whatever," he said. "I guess it's better than being called out for the opposite."
The final season of Mad Men will be split into two parts, airing in early 2014.
