Could Colin Farrell have been Elizabeth Taylor's eighth husband? In another life, quite possibly!
The "Saving Mr. Banks" star was one of the few non-family members invited to Taylor's funeral in 2011, which had many wondering what the connection was between the two. The two were so close in fact, that Colin recited a poem at the one-hour service.
Farrell, 37, just opened up about their relationship on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."
"My youngest son was being born. We were in Cedars [Sinai hospital] and I bumped into … Elizabeth’s manager and her close friend Tim Mendelsohn and they said, 'What are you doing here?'" Colin recalled.

Farrell's girlfriend at the time, Alicja Bachleda, gave birth to the actor's son Henry in Oct. 2009 while Ms. Taylor was at the same hospital having a stint put in her heart.
"I said, 'Will you tell her I said hello? She probably won't know who I am,' and they go, 'No, she knows who you are,' and I went, 'Wow, cool. Well, tell her I said hello and I wish her the best.'''
Continued Farrell, "So I got home a few days later with Henry, and I was thinking about Elizabeth and how she was doing. I called my publicist and I said I bumped into some people of Elizabeth Taylor’s, some friends of hers, could I send her some flowers? And my publicist said, 'That's funny because I’m looking at an orchid from Elizabeth Taylor for you.'"
Naturally, Colin had his publicist arrange a meeting with Elizabeth.
"I got to have an audience with her and that was the beginning of a year and a half or two years of what was a really cool … it was kind of like the last, it feels like in my head, not her, I’m projecting, but the last kind of romantic relationship I had," Farrell explained, adding, "Which was never consummated."
The actor quipped, "I wanted to be [husband] number eight but we ran out of road."
Taylor passed away at the age of 79.
