No frowny faces here! Season 10 Bachelorette Andi Dorfman threw her fiance Josh Murray a surprise 30th birthday party in Atlanta, Ga., on Friday, Aug. 8, Us Weekly has exclusively learned. The newly engaged couple—and 25 of their closest family and friends—gathered at Atlanta’s Painted Pin for a night of bowling, laughs, and an all-around good time.
“He did not know they were coming and was totally surprised! Lots of kisses and hugs,” an insider tells Us of the festivities. “Andi was stressed all week trying to make this the perfect surprise for Josh—from what I could tell, it all went off without a hitch.”
Indeed, when guests weren’t strapping on bowling shoes, they also played shuffleboard and sipped on the boutique bowling alley’s signature Moscow Mule Slushies, the source tells Us. For dessert, Murray blew out 30 candles on a bowling-themed cake while a live band sang “Happy Birthday.”
Dorfman, 27, and the former baseball player didn’t leave each other’s side for most of the night, and were also joined by Kelly Travis from Juan Pablo Galavis’ Bachelor season. Dorfman wore black leather pants, a white silk top and accessorized with a blue and gold statement necklace and, of course, her stunning Neil Lane engagement ring. Murray coordinated in khaki pants and a black long-sleeve shirt.
“Andi and Josh were very affectionate and seemed genuinely happy,” a second source notes to Us. “They seemed very natural and comfortable together.” At one point, Josh helped Andi with her bowling form and they shared a sweet kiss. Andi also hopped on his lap while talking with friends.
The Atlanta natives recently returned home after wrapping up a whirlwind of post-finale press in NYC. “I call him for everything. He’s the last person I want to talk to at night, the first person I want to talk to in the morning,” Dorfman recently told Atlanta’s Jezebel magazine of her husband-to-be.
As for their wedding plans, the couple want to get married ASAP. “We would like to do something in the spring,” Dorfman gushed on Good Morning America on July 28.
