What's the latest with the Emancipation of Mimi? After Nick Cannon confirmed that his marriage with Mariah Carey was on the rocks, her rep released a statement to Us Weekly on Friday, Aug. 22.
"I don't comment on Mariah's personal life," her rep tells Us, "but Mariah is focusing on her children and her upcoming tour."
As reported by Us on Thursday, Aug. 21, the spouses of six years have been living apart for some time, which Cannon later confirmed that same day.
"There is trouble in paradise," the America's Got Talent host, 33, told The Insider of his marriage to the Grammy winner, while adding: "My main focus is my kids."
The parents to twins Monroe and Moroccan, 3, have been living separately since June. "it has been shaky for a while," a source told Us. "But it all came to a head recently."
Insiders on the set of America's Got Talent noted to Us that Cannon's demeanor has changed significantly in recent months. "He's more closed off this season," a source said of Cannon's usually "happy-go-lucky" personality.
Another insider added, "He never talks about Mariah, and she has never been to set in all the seasons he has hosted."
Cannon and Carey first met back in 2008 on the set of her "Bye Bye" music video, shot in Antigua. One month later, they married in the Bahamas, and have since celebrated their anniversaries with elaborate vow renewals.
