Back at it. Amanda Bynes returned to Twitter on Tuesday, Oct. 7, re-upping her social media presence after a five-month hiatus.
The former child star, 28, took to her verified Twitter account in the early hours of Tuesday morning. "Treat others how you want to be treated," she wrote. "The truth will set you free."
Though she had stayed out of the public eye for many months, Bynes has had an eventful couple of weeks. The Easy A actress arrived in New York City on Friday, Oct. 3, looking disheveled as she walked the Manhattan streets in sweatpants with a bandage on her face. The week prior, she was arrested for a DUI in California. Adding to the buzz, Bynes was seen with what looks like a massive diamond engagement ring on her ring finger.
Bynes made the move back to NYC with a plan in mind, she explained in her return to Twitter. "I'm transferring to NYU or Columbia from FIDM to study psychology, so you'll see me in New York if you live here but I HATE stalkers!" she wrote.
She was previously studying at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles, while living with her parents and getting back on track. After repeated run-ins with the law and alarming, erratic messages on social media, Bynes checked in to rehab for mental illness last fall.
The What I Like About You alum kept quiet in the ensuing months, giving a brief update this past March when she tweeted, "Hi everyone! I'm busy studying at @FIDM but I want to say I love you to my fans! Xoxo Amanda." She later shared a total of three messages, and retweeted a photo that her sister Jillian shared.
