License to kill? NASCAR driver Kurt Busch testified in court on Tuesday, Jan. 13, that he believes his ex-girlfriend Patricia Driscoll is a trained assassin. According to the Associated Press, Busch, 36, made the revelation while on the stand during a hearing over Driscoll’s request for a protection order she filed against him.
Per the AP, Busch said Driscoll, 37, told him she was a hired killer who traveled all over the world. He even recounted one alleged incident when, during a trip to El Paso, Texas, she left in camouflage gear and returned later in a blood-spattered gown under a trench coat.
He further claimed, according to the Associated Press, that she told him she was at least part of the inspiration for Jessica Chastain‘s character in 2012’s Zero Dark Thirty, about the hunt for Osama bin Laden.
“Everybody on the outside can tell me I’m crazy, but I lived on the inside and saw it firsthand,” the AP quotes Busch as saying during the hearing.
Another individual, Michael Doncheff, who was a personal assistant to the now-exes, said last month that Driscoll told him she worked for the U.S. government. Per the AP, he quoted her as saying, “I take down foreign governments. I own Washington.”
Driscoll, for her part, told the AP that her ex’s allegations were “ludicrous and without basis,” and just part of his attempt to discredit her. “Not even [his lawyer] Rusty Hardin believes this,” she asserted.
“I find it interesting that some of the outlandish claims come straight from a fictional movie script I’ve been working on for eight years,” she told the AP.
Driscoll accused Busch of domestic assault last fall, and has requested that he be ordered to stay away from her. According to the AP’s report, she claims he grabbed her by the throat and slammed her head into a wall in his motorhome; both he and his reps have denied the allegations.
