Just one of the boys!
Since shaving her head smooth for Les Miserables, it’s safe to say that Anne Hathaway has been quite experimental while growing out her chestnut tresses, trying everything from a pixie to an asymmetrical bob. But on Tuesday, March 10, the Oscar-winning actress debuted her most surprising hairstyle to date: an undeniable man bun.
At the opening of Josephine and I at NYC’s The Public Theater, Hathaway, 32, pulled the top section of her brunette bob into a small knot and left the rest unstyled.
Making the man bun comparisons all the more obvious, the Song One actress donned a tuxedo-inspired suit, which she paired with a quilted Christian Dior bag and leather ankle booties.
So, whose man bun (and general red carpet style) might have served as Hathaway’s inspiration? Take a look at Colin Farrell, who not only rocked a teensy top twist, but a slim-fit suit at the Dead Man Down premiere in February 2013, in Hollywood. Looks like a pretty close match to Us!
The actress did, however, add one flirtatious touch to her ensemble absent in Farrell’s: a red statement lip, which, paired with blushed cheeks, created a little ladylike sass.
