Was Jake there too!?
For Reese Witherspoon, diamonds continue to be a girl’s best friend! The Wild actress was surprised on Wednesday, April 15, when an employee of Tiffany & Co. recreated a scene from the Oscar winner’s 2002 film Sweet Home Alabama.
“Um. This just happened. @Tiffanyandco just surprised me with a #SweetHomeAlabama moment in NYC??!!!” Witherspoon, 39, captioned an Instagram photo. “Where magical moments happen. #Pinchme #NotYourAverageWednesday!!”
Indeed, not average at all! In the pic, Witherspoon looked shocked as a company representative got down on one knee with an engagement ring in hand. The employee didn’t resemble Patrick Dempsey in the least, but Witherspoon’s mini black dress did look similar to the one she wore in the romantic comedy.
The mom of three played fashion designer Melanie Smooter in Sweet Home Alabama, who leaves her home behind for a fabulous NYC lifestyle. Her engagement plans to the mayor’s son Andrew Hennings (Dempsey) come to a screeching halt though when she tries to finally get her ex-husband Jake Perry (Josh Lucas) to sign their divorce papers.
Spoiler alert: She went back to her Southern roots! And her first love had quite the glass collection.
