Feeling the royal love! Kate Middleton and Prince William wasted no time inviting their family members to visit their new princess, Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, on Sunday, May 3, Us Weekly can confirm. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge opened their pearly gold gates at London’s Kensington Palace for Prince Charles, Pippa Middleton, and more.
An insider tells Us that Middleton’s younger sister Pippa and mother Carole Middleton were among the first relatives to meet Her Royal Highness, Princess of Cambridge. The pair arrived at 11:30 a.m. local time.
Just over an hour later, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla Parker Bowles met their new granddaughter for the very first time and stayed for nearly two hours. At 1:40 p.m., Middleton’s father Michael trickled in as well.
Middleton’s close friend Emilia Jardine-Peterson, one of Prince George’s godparents, also stopped by. The pair have taken their children swimming at the Windsor estate before.
Duchess of Cambridge Middleton and Prince William, both 32, welcomed their baby girl at St. Mary’s Hospital on Saturday. She weighed in at 8 lbs., 3 oz., and her name has yet to be announced.
Queen Elizabeth II was first to hear of the birth before the rest of the world broke out in cheer. However, she’s yet to meet Prince George’s younger sister in person. On Sunday, she was spotted at church in Sandringham. The new princess was even mentioned in the service’s prayers. She will meet her great-grandchild once Middleton and Prince William relocate to their countryside home at Anmer Hall, which is also on the Sandringham estate and nearly 100 miles outside London.
