Ending her run. Kim Richards will not be returning for the upcoming season of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, multiple sources confirm to Us Weekly.
The reality star, 50, appeared on the Bravo show for nearly five years, last featured as a regular during the fifth season in late 2014 and early 2015. Richards has struggled with her sobriety in recent months, and sources tell Us that the trouble affected the star’s standing with RHOBH.
“The RHOBH producers really have no interest in bringing her back to the show,” an insider tells Us. “Kim needs to get help and it needs to happen outside of the show.”
Richards checked into rehab earlier this month, seeking treatment after she was arrested in April for public intoxication, battery, and resisting arrest. The mother of four was taken into custody after causing a scene at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
“There’s no interest in putting her back on television unless she’s addressed her issues,” a second source adds. “The show didn’t trigger her addiction — and her recovery also needs to happen outside of it.”
The troubled star’s sister Kyle Richards is expected to continue to star on RHOBH. Both women, along with Lisa Vanderpump, were featured as main stars every season since 2010’s series premiere.
E! News was first to report the news of Richards’ departure.
