The latest dirt on the royals: Prince Charles has been spending time bonding with his 23-month-old grandson, Prince George, by gardening!
On the grounds of his country estate, Highgrove House, “George recently helped his granddad plant a balsam poplar tree and a winter orange lime tree,” says a royal insider. “They love to garden together.”
Grandpa, 66, wants to keep up with family traditions. George’s dad, Prince William, and his uncle, Prince Harry, spent many childhood afternoons playing in a Highgrove tree house constructed in 1988. A staffer says that George has already visited the property “many times.”
Says the source, “Charles is having someone come in to renovate it so George can soon play in it too!”
Clearly, George enjoys the great outdoors. Duchess Kate took the tot to the Beaufort Polo Club in Tetbury, England to watch Harry, 30, and William, 33, play at the polo on June 14 — where he ran around the horses, played with a toy car and tried to roll down a hill! Mom, 33, snapped an adorable photo of big brother George, clad in a Olivier Baby cashmere cardigan, and newborn baby Charlotte earlier this month.
Prince Charles adores both of his grandkids. “Charles is a very proud grandfather,” the staffer adds.
