Behold! Eminem and Gwen Stefani have teamed up for Southpaw’s highly anticipated soundtrack. The dynamic duo released new song “Kings Never Die” on Friday, July 10, and it doesn’t disappoint.
The collaboration follows Eminem’s previously released song off the film’s soundtrack, “Phenomenal."
Stefani, who hadn’t worked with the rapper before, opens up the rock-inspired single, while Eminem carries the rap portion of the adrenaline-pumping track, perfectly suited for the boxing film.
“Kings Never Die" marks The Voice coach's latest single since her recent solos including “Baby Don’t Lie.”
"I complain about the game, I shout and I pout, it's a love-hate / But I found out that I can move a mountain of doubt / Even when you bitches are counting me out, and I appear to be down for the count,” Marshall Mathers raps. In the film, Jake Gyllenhaal plays Billy “The Great” Hope, a pugilist struggling to regain his career and custody of his daughter after the death of his wife, played by Rachel McAdams.
