Time to put down the mic and grab the diapers! Thousands of screaming fans came out to support One Direction during their Good Morning America performance on Tuesday, Aug. 4. But before the lads said farewell, Michael Strahan had a (very quick!) conversation with dad-to-be Louis Tomlinson.
"Louis, from one father to another I want to congratulate you on your upcoming fatherhood. So how are you feeling?" Strahan, 43, asked.
"Thank you," Tomlinson, 23. "Obviously it's a very exciting time. So thank you."
Us Weekly confirmed on July 14 that the British boybander is expecting his first child with stylist pal Briana Jungwirth. (Amid the news, mentor Simon Cowell apparently told Tomlinson to "man up.")
"Louis didn’t expect this, but he’s excited for it now," an insider previously told Us. "He’s become very close friends with Briana this year and now they are looking forward to being parents. He’s definitely going to be there and be a great dad for their baby."
The pair's respective parents met over Fourth of July weekend and got along well, the source noted. Tomlinson and Jungwirth, 23, will co-parent, but they are not currently dating. "They aren’t a couple and the pregnancy is in the very new [stages]," the insider added. "They just found out."

The pregnancy took One Directioners by surprise — including bandmate Liam Payne! "Well, obviously I was a bit shocked, but he's taken super well to it," Payne, 23, told Jo Parkerson on U.K. radio station Magic on Monday. "He's very excited with what's going on with him at the moment and I feel that stuff like that happens sometimes. He's taking it very seriously."
