The cast and crew of Mark Wahlberg and Kate Hudson‘s upcoming drama Deepwater Horizon is in mourning. One of the movie’s stuntmen, Shawn Robinson, was found dead in his hotel room last week after failing to show up for work on July 28. Deadline reports that the crew member, the son of legendary stuntman Dar Robinson, was 41.
“On behalf of the producers, cast, and crew of Deepwater Horizon and the entire Lionsgate family, we want to send our most heartfelt condolences to the family of Shawn Robinson,” Lionsgate, the production company behind Robinson’s last project, told Deadline in a statement on Thursday, Aug. 6. “Shawn was a gifted stunt performer and a beloved and trusted member of our crew. We grieve with his family over this tremendous loss.”
Robinson’s credits included Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Lone Ranger, X-Men: The Last Stand, and the first three Transformers films. The late stuntman’s brother Troy serves as Vin Diesel‘s stunt double, according to the Toronto Sun. Robinson is predeceased by his famous father, who was killed in 1986 when his vehicle went off a cliff while filming a motorcycle chase scene.
