Now this is the story all about how … Will Smith returned to music after 10 years out of the game. The actor gets back to his rapping roots on the remix of Bomba Estéreo’s “Fiesta,” which dropped on Friday, Oct. 2, and the results are amazing.
On the catchy dance track, Smith, 47, raps in both English and Spanish in collaboration with the Colombian band.
“When I was told that Will Smith wanted to collaborate on a remix with Bomba, I couldn’t believe it,” band founder and multi-instrumentalist Simon Mejia said in a statement to Access Hollywood Friday. “This opportunity to work with Will was beyond anything we have dreamed of … it’s just magic.”
Lest fans forget, the former Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star had a successful career in music before he focused on roles for the big screen — a decade ago.
His last album, 2005’s Lost and Found, featured such tracks as “Switch,” “Tell Me Why,” and “Pump Ya Brakes.”
But it was his earlier hits that made a lasting impact on the airwaves. Below, check out Us Weekly’s favorite old school jams of his.
1. Summertime
The ultimate anthem for the sunnier months, we dare you not to bob your head to this classic.
2. Miami
White after Labor Day, plenty of bikini-clad youngsters, and sand and surf galore — what's not to love?
3. Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It
Perhaps one of Smith's best-known hits, it's impossible not to get up and groove to this classic.
4. Just the Two of Us
Before he was a stud on his own right, Smith's son Trey was just a plus-one in Dad's music videos.
5. Parents Just Don't Understand
Any excuse to see Smith and pal DJ Jazzy Jeff riff off one another is reason enough to rewatch this music video!
