Abby Lee Miller appeared in federal court in Pittsburgh on Monday, Nov. 2, and pleaded not guilty to bankruptcy fraud charges. The Dance Moms star was indicted in October on 20 counts, which also included concealment of bankruptcy accents and false bankruptcy declarations, according to United States Attorney David J. Hickton.
In addition, the tough dance instructor is accused of trying to hide $755,492.85 of income earned from the Lifetime reality show and spinoff projects when she filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2010.
According to Action 4 News in Pittsburgh, Miller, 49, requested a trial by jury when she appeared before the federal judge. Deadline reports that she also paid a $10,000 bond.
Prior to entering the courthouse on Monday, the owner of the Abby Lee Dance Co. was all smiles as she made her way to the entrance.
When a reporter asked if she wanted to address her fans, Miller replied, “I didn’t have my hair done. Season 6 jackets are on sale on the website Wednesday.”
If convicted, Miller could face five years in prison as well as a $250,000 fine for each count.
