Getting runway ready means more than backstage hair and makeup, according to Kendall Jenner. In fact, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 20, goes full-on Michael Phelps before hitting the catwalk, focusing entirely on her danceworthy playlist and shutting out anything else.
“Backstage at a show can sometimes be crazy,” she mused in an NYFW-theme post on her website on Thursday, September 8. “When I need to tune everything out and just get into the zone, I’ll throw my headphones on and blast songs that I know will get me amped up to walk the runway.”
So, which songs get Jenner’s hips moving? Destiny’s Child‘s “Bootylicious” starts off the 14-track list, followed by Tove Lo‘s “Cool Girl” and “Luv” by Tory Lanez.
Naturally, Jenner also includes plenty of songs by her brother-in-law, Kanye West, whose Yeezy Season 4 show she attended on September 7. Beyoncé also makes another appearance with her “***Flawless” remix. According to Estée Lauder brand ambassador Jenner: “It’s all about the rhythm!”
When she’s not on the runway, Jenner told Us, she still likes to stir up drama with her style choices. “I actually love causing controversy with my outfits,” the Vogue cover girl dishes of her head-turning, skin-baring off-duty duds. “It’s my favorite to cause a commotion with a look that may be scandalous. Why not?”
