Viall, 35, is currently costarring on the third season of Bachelor in Paradise, in which he has been dating Jen Saviano. He previously made it to the final two on both seasons 10 and 11 of The Bachelorette, losing Andi Dorfman’s final rose to Josh Murray and coming in second behind Shawn Booth for Kaitlyn Bristowe’s love.
He’s hopeful his experience on the show will pay off this time around. “I’ve certainly had the practice,” Viall quipped on After Paradise about taking on the big role. “I’m definitely ready for it — I’m very excited.”
Plenty of Bachelor Nation folks had something to say about Viall’s being chosen above rumored front-runner Luke Pell.
Bachelor season 20 alum Izzy Goodkind told Us exclusively, “Nick is the next Bachelor? Perfect — Chase and Luke are single for the rest of us!”
Jade Roper, Tanner Tolbert and J.P. Rosenbaum posted their congratulations on social media too. Even Viall’s Bachelor in Paradise nemesis, Murray, tweeted a message of support: “Despite our differences, I am truly happy 4 @viallnicholas28 everyone deserves love and he is no exception — this is your time, go find her!”
The Bachelor returns to ABC on Mondays in early 2017.
