Get out the celebratory lunch meat and raise a glass of milk! Never one to shy away from the spotlight, The Bachelorette season 12 villain Chad Johnson will appear on Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell‘s upcoming reality series, a source confirms to Us Weekly.
Johnson, who had a blink-and-you-missed-it stint on Bachelor in Paradise season 3, will join the engaged pair on Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After?, Freeform’s new unscripted series premiering Tuesday, October 11. The details of his appearance have not yet been revealed.
A source previously told Us that season 12’s JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers filmed a sushi lunch date with Higgins and Bushnell for the series earlier this month.
On the surface, Johnson, 28, and the happy couple do not appear to have a lot in common, as Higgins, 28, was known for defusing tension during The Bachelor season 20. (He proposed to the flight attendant in Jamaica during his finale that aired in March.) Johnson, Higgins and Bushnell were all in the audience at Fletcher‘s After the Final Rose special earlier this month, where the protein-obsessed villain made a poorly received plea to be the next Bachelor.
Johnson is presumably hoping that his time on Ben and Lauren goes a bit more smoothly than his two previous brushes with TV fame. The luxury real estate agent had constant friction with Fletcher’s other suitors before she gave him the ax during a disastrous two-on-one date in the June 7 episode.
He triumphantly rose like a phoenix, landing a spot on the Bachelor in Paradise season 3 premiere on August 2 and quickly hitting it off with Lace Morris. But the rebirth was short-lived, and his aggressive behavior led producers to send him packing by the end of the episode.
