Mara Wilson came out to her fans as bisexual on Twitter on Monday, June 13. The Matilda actress, 28, revealed her sexuality via a series of tweets following Sunday’s tragic massacre at Orlando gay nightclub Pulse that left 49 dead and 53 injured.
The Mrs. Doubtfire star tweeted out a photo Monday of herself at a gay nightclub from when she was 18, explaining that although she was a “straight girl,” she “felt so welcomed there.”
“I have never had a better experience at a club than I did then. Great music and people. And one of my friends met his partner that night!” she shared on Twitter. “I haven’t been to one since college, except once when a friend brought me along. I didn’t feel like I belonged there. But the LGBTQ community has always felt like home, especially a few yeas later when, I, uh, learned something about myself. So thank you.”

Her followers then started prodding the actress for more details.
“Let me put it this way: I’m a 2,” she tweeted, referring to her number on the Kinsey scale. According to the Kinsey Institute, a 2 means “predominantly heterosexual, only incidentally homosexual.”
“I know a lot of people don’t like the Kinsey scale, and that is fine by me,” Wilson continued. “But I’m pragmatic at heart and find comfort in numbers.”
After a follower called her out for using the phrase “mostly straight,” Wilson replied: “I said I *used* to identify as mostly straight. I've embraced the Bi/Queer label lately.”

The former child star doesn’t plan on elaborating. In fact, Wilson was surprised to find that her tweets went viral.
“I think I'm going to stay off Twitter for a few days. I had no idea this would be such a thing, but I guess it's flattering,” she tweeted on Tuesday, June 14. “Thank you so much to everybody who has sent me words of support. I support you all, too. ❤️”
