No saying goodbye here! Judy Greer tells Us Weekly exclusively that while the details of the upcoming fifth season of Arrested Development are uncertain, one thing is clear: The cast has remained a close, crazy family.
The 13 Going On 30 star stopped by Us’ Los Angeles office to promote her new partnership with Lactaid for its “No More Dairy Envy” campaign, where she discussed the popular comedy show that launched its fourth season on Netflix in 2013 after three seasons on Fox.
“It’s the kind of thing where [series creator] Mitch Hurwitz will call us and be like, ‘Are you free next week? Great, we’ll fly you in,’” Greer, who plays rambunctious secretary Kitty Sanchez, jokes. “I don’t know anything yet. But it’s kind of like the best, most dysfunctional family — that’s how we are!”
Hurwitz revealed earlier this year that while he has plans for a fifth season, it likely won’t air until 2017.
Greer, 40, also opened up about directing her first film, A Happening of Monumental Proportions, which stars Common and Allison Janney.
“I wanted to see what it was like to be on the other side, and I learned so much,” Greer gushes. “I have a lot of newfound respect for independent filmmakers trying to break into the business. I feel like I got really lucky, which makes me appreciate all the movies that I’ve been in and how hard all those filmmakers worked to get those made.”
