Who’s ready for another explosive season of Lifetime’s UnREAL?
A promo for the Bachelor-inspired drama series’ new batch of episodes reveals a return to the behind-the-scenes world of ultra-manipulative producers Quinn King (Critics’ Choice Award winner Constance Zimmer) and Rachel Goldberg (Shiri Appleby) as they pitch a new suitor to the network: pro NFL quarterback Darius Beck, played by B.J. Britt (BET’s Being Mary Jane).
In the video, cast members Zimmer and Appleby and series’ co-creator Sarah Gertrude Shapiro talk about how casting a black actor as a suitor allows UnREAL to push boundaries and discuss race in a real and honest way.
“We’re not trying to do things just to shock people. We just go really hard and get to places that are uncomfortable for everyone,” says Shapiro.
Watch the clip in the video above for a taste of what’s to come in UnREAL’s second season, which premieres on Lifetime on Monday, June 6, at 10 p.m ET.
