Carrie Underwood’s son, Isaiah, is a little parrot these days. “He mimics right now,” the singer told Us Weekly on Sunday, May 1, at the American Country Countdown Awards in Los Angeles. “He’s really been into whatever you say. If you get frustrated and say, ‘ugh,’ he’ll go, ‘ugh.’”
Isaiah, 14 months, has also been taking cues from his mom on how to pose. “I was doing rehearsals or a fitting or something and I came into my hotel room and my stylist was giving him a haircut, which he really needed,” the Almay brand ambassador told Us. “I came in and I was like, ‘Oh, my gosh! You look like a big boy,’ and he sticks his hand up to his face [cups chin with both hands].”
The 33-year-old and her husband, NHL player Mike Fisher, welcomed Isaiah on February 27, 2015. “He makes me happy all day every day,” Underwood gushed. “He’s adorable and he’s smart and he’s sweet. I am beyond lucky. I don’t deserve him.”
Underwood — who walked the red carpet in a sleeveless Gauri & Nainika gown (with printed shorts underneath!) — also opened up about her toned arms. “I’ve been been lifting more lately,” she revealed, “just lifting things that are heavier. I like it because I like feeling strong.”
The American Idol season 4 winner exercises nearly every day. “I will take any type of workout I can get, whenever I can get it,” she told Shape magazine in November. “For me, it’s the key to being happy and healthy.”
