Once he realized his diminutive stature wouldn’t get him to the NBA, he pivoted to writing and has been with Us Weekly since 2024 while retaining his NCAA eligibility just in case. Now a senior sports writer, Russell embraces all that the sports world has to offer, from a game’s quirks to its biggest bombshells. In a past life, he crisscrossed the sports world, covering everything from the Final Four to Monster Jam. His byline has also appeared at Boardroom, SLAM Magazine, SB Nation, The Next, and more.
