Russell Steinberg is a lifelong sports fan, current dog dad and competitive reality TV connoisseur. Once he realized his diminutive stature wouldn’t get him to the NBA, he pivoted to writing and has been with Us Weekly since 2024 while retaining his NCAA eligibility just in case. Now a senior sports writer, Russell embraces all that the sports world has to offer, from a game’s quirks to its biggest bombshells. In a past life, he crisscrossed the sports world, covering everything from the Final Four to Monster Jam. His byline has also appeared at Boardroom, SLAM Magazine, SB Nation, The Next, and more. He graduated from New York University in 2012 where, against the advice of many, he double majored in journalism and history.
