Charles Melton

Charles Melton is an actor and model best known for his role on Riverdale. Melton grew up in a military family and moved frequently, even spending five years in his mother’s native South Korea, before settling in Kansas. He attended Kansas State University, where he played football before dropping out to pursue modeling and acting.

Melton started his career as a model, working for brands like Dolce & Gabbana, Kenneth Cole and Armani. He made his acting debut in 2014 on an episode of Glee and later appeared on American Horror Story: Hotel. In 2017, he landed his breakout role as Reggie Mantle on Riverdale, replacing Ross Butler in season 2 and becoming a series regular the following season. He remained with the show until it ended in 2023.

The actor’s career expanded into film with leading roles in The Sun Is Also a Star (2019) and May December (2023). His performance in the latter earned him high acclaim and a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role.

In 2024, Melton was cast in Netflix’s Beef season 2 alongside Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan.

Melton has been linked to several high-profile relationships. He dated Camila Mendes from 2018 to 2019 before briefly rekindling their romance in 2021. In 2022, he dated Chase Sui Wonders, and the pair split that summer. He was linked to actress Chloe Bennet the following year, but the twosome parted ways at the end of 2023.
