
Christy Carlson Romano
Christy Carlson Romano is an American actress and singer best known for her roles on the Disney Channel and her work on Broadway. Romano spent her childhood in Milford, Connecticut, first performing in theater productions at age 6. She made her Broadway debut in Annie in 1990, and later toured in The Sound of Music alongside Marie Osmond, building a foundation in musical theater before transitioning to television.
Romano rose to fame in the early 2000s as Ren Stevens on Disney Channel’s Even Stevens opposite Shia LaBeouf. During her time with the network, she also voiced the title character in Kim Possible and starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie Cadet Kelly (2002) alongside Hilary Duff. Beyond her Disney success, Romano appeared in various projects including Dream Killer (2019) and continued stage work, later launching the podcast “Vulnerable,” where she interviews former child stars and reflects on her career in the entertainment industry.
Romano married producer Brendan Rooney in 2013. The couple share two daughters: Isabella (born in 2016) and Sophia (born in 2019).
In 2026, Romano revealed that she received a positive cancer scan and may have stageable cancer.
