Colman Domingo is an American actor, playwright and director known for his work on stage and screen, including Euphoria and Fear the Walking Dead. Domingo was born and raised in Philadelphia by his mother and stepfather and developed an early interest in the arts. He studied journalism at Temple University before moving to San Francisco to pursue acting.

Domingo began his career in theater, building a reputation as a dynamic stage performer and writer. He earned acclaim for his work in productions including Passing Strange (2009) and went on to write and star in the autobiographical show A Boy and His Soul, which received a Lucille Lortel Award. His transition to television brought wider recognition, first with recurring roles on shows including Nash Bridges and then as Victor Strand on Fear the Walking Dead, which he joined in 2015. He later garnered critical praise for his portrayal of Ali on Euphoria.

In film, Domingo has appeared in Selma (2014), Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom (2020), Zola (2020) and Rustin. His performance as the titular role in Rustin earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor, making him one of the few openly gay men nominated in the category. Over the course of his career, he has received multiple Primetime Emmy and Tony Award nominations for his work across television and theater.

Domingo met Raúl Domingo in 2005, and the pair tied the knot in 2014.
