Craig Melvin

Craig Melvin is an Emmy-winning journalist known for his dynamic presence on NBC News. Melvin gained widespread recognition as a coanchor of Today, where he has become a staple in morning television, covering breaking news, interviews and human interest stories.

Melvin began his career in local news, working as a reporter and anchor in various markets, including South Carolina and Washington, D.C. His career took a significant leap when he joined NBC News in 2011 as a correspondent, later transitioning to Today in 2018. Over the years, he has covered major stories, including presidential elections, natural disasters and high-profile criminal cases.

Outside of his work on Today, the two-time Emmy winner also contributes to MSNBC, where he anchors MSNBC Reports.

Melvin was announced in November 2024 as Hoda Kotb’s replacement after the beloved coanchor announced that she was leaving Today following nearly two decades.

Melvin has been married to broadcaster Lindsay Czarniak since 2011. They share son Delano (born March 2014) and daughter Sybil (born November 2016). The father of two released first children’s book, I’m Proud Of You, in May 2024.
