
Ego Nwodim
Ego Nwodim (born Egobunma Kelechi Nwodim) is an American actress and comedian known for her work on Saturday Night Live, where she was a cast member from 2018 to 2025. Nwodim was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and attended the University of Southern California, graduating in 2010 before shifting her focus to comedy. After college she trained and performed at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles, where she became a regular performer and debuted her one-woman show Great Black Women… and Then There’s Me.
Nwodim’s early career included supporting roles on television, including shows like 2 Broke Girls, Law & Order True Crime and Living Biblically as well as appearances in independent films. She joined Saturday Night Live in 2018 as a featured player and was promoted to repertory status in 2020. She became known for characters including Lisa from Temecula and Miss Eggy before departing the series in 2025.
In December 2025, Nwodim was announced as the host for the 2026 Spirit Awards.
On the big screen, some of her later credits include Good Burger 2 (2023), Scrambled (2023) and Players (2024).
Nwodim keeps her dating life largely private and has not publicly confirmed any relationships.
