Emily Simpson was born in Ohio in 1976. She later moved to California and made her debut on The Real Housewives of Orange County during season 13 in 2018.

When first joining the reality show, Simpson was described by Bravo as a woman who came from humble beginnings and willed herself to great success to become an attorney, a part-time party planner, a wife and a mom.

After years of fertility struggles, Simpson’s sister Sara stepped in as a surrogate. Simpson and her husband Shane Simpson later became parents to a daughter named Annabelle and twin boys named Luke and Keller.

In addition to filming The Real Housewives of Orange County, Simpson uses her legal background to support The Innocence Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting exonerated individuals upon release.
