Erin Bates

Erin Bates Paine is a reality TV personality best known for starring on the UPtv series Bringing Up Bates. Born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, Erin is the third of 19 children in the Bates family. She was homeschooled before attending Crown College of the Bible, where she earned a degree in music ministry.

Erin made her first TV appearance as a teenager on 19 Kids and Counting, which featured her family’s close ties to the Duggar family. She gained national attention when Bringing Up Bates premiered in 2015, documenting the daily lives of the Bates household. The show ran for 10 seasons before ending in 2021.

Alongside her television career, Erin is a pianist and has released several faith-based albums, including Comfort & Joy (2009), Merciful and Mighty (2010), Down Home Gospel (2012) and Lullaby (2016).

Erin began dating Chad Paine in 2012. The couple got engaged in August 2013 and tied the knot that November. They share seven children: Carson (born in 2015), Brooklyn (born in 2016), Everly (born in 2018), Holland (born in 2019), Finley (born in 2022), William (born in 2023) and Henry (born in 2025). In September 2025, Erin was hospitalized for septic shock shortly after giving birth to Henry.
