Katie Bates

Katie Bates is an American reality TV personality known for appearing on UPtv’s Bringing Up Bates, which followed the lives of the Bates family and their 19 children. Katie is the 11th child of Gil Bates and Kelly Jo Bates. She grew up in a large household alongside her 18 siblings. Much of her childhood was documented on her family’s reality series, which chronicled their home life and major milestones. After finishing her education, Katie attended The Crown College, where she earned a cosmetology license. She later briefly worked for the family-run company Bates Sisters Boutique.

Katie rose to prominence through Bringing Up Bates, which premiered in 2015 on UPtv. Over the course of the show’s run, she became a familiar face to viewers as she entered adulthood, launched professional ventures and documented her relationship milestones on and off the series. Following the show’s cancellation in 2022, she has continued to share updates with fans through social media and YouTube alongside her husband.

Katie began a relationship with Travis Clark in 2019, and the pair eloped in 2021. The couple share two children: Hailey (born in 2023) and Harvey Gray Clark (born in 2024). In 2025, Clark admitted to having an affair, and the pair have publicly navigated rekindling their relationship since.
