Katie Thurston worked as a bank marketing manager in Seattle before competing on Matt James’ season 25 of The Bachelor in 2021. While she was eliminated during week six of the reality series, Katie was later announced as the season 17 lead of The Bachelorette.

During the season finale of her Bachelorette season, Katie got engaged to Blake Moynes, but the pair split soon after. She moved on with John Hersey, another contestant from her season, but the pair split in June 2022. Katie competed on season 3 of The CW’s FBOY Island in 2023 but didn’t find The One. Katie later connected with comedian Jeff Arcuri in April 2024, getting engaged the following August.

Katie announced in February 2025 that she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Katie and Jeff tied the knot one month later before she began treatment.
