Matthew Rutler

Matthew Rutler is a film production assistant and the fiancé of Christina Aguilera. Rutler spent his childhood in New Jersey and played the guitar growing up. He was a guitarist in the Nate Mott Band before he began working as a production assistant in 2009.

He first worked on the set of the 2009 rom-rom The Proposal starring Sandra Bullock. He later went on to work on films such as Law Abiding Citizen (2009), Bunker Hill (2009) and Grown Ups (2010). Rutler met Aguilera later that year, while working on the set of the drama Burlesque.

The New Jersey native transitioned from production work in 2011 and in 2014 became an investor of the online learning platform MasterClass. He was named as the company’s director of talent and business development in 2016.

Rutler and Aguilera began dating in 2010 and got engaged in 2014. They welcomed daughter Summer Rain later that year.
