
Matty Matheson
Matty Matheson is a Canadian chef, restaurateur and television personality known for his larger-than-life presence and role on The Bear. Born in New Brunswick, Canada, Matheson later moved to Fort Erie, Ontario. He developed an interest in cooking at a young age and attended Humber College in Toronto, where he studied culinary arts before launching his career in professional kitchens.
Matheson rose to prominence as executive chef of Parts & Labour in Toronto and became a familiar face through his work with Vice’s food programming. His high-energy cooking videos and series helped him build a devoted following, leading to television opportunities that helped expand his profile.
In 2022, he joined the cast of The Bear, portraying handyman Neil Fak on the acclaimed FX series. He also acts as a producer and culinary consultant on the show.
Beyond television, Matheson has released multiple cookbooks, including Matty Matheson: A Cookbook (2018) and Home Style Cookery (2020), and has opened several restaurants, including Prime Seafood Palace in Toronto.
Matheson married Trish Spencer in 2014. The couple share children Macarthur, Rizzo and Ozzy.
