Maxim Naumov is an American figure skater best known for representing the United States at the 2026 Winter Olympics. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, Naumov grew up in a figure skating family. His parents, Vadim Naumov and Evgenia Shishkova, were Russian pairs skaters who won the 1994 World Championship and competed at two Olympic Games. Naumov began skating at age 3, going on to train in gymnastics as a child. He graduated from Simsbury High School in 2019 and later attended Arizona State University online.
Naumov won the U.S. juvenile title in 2013, the U.S. novice championship in 2017 and the U.S. junior championship in 2020. He finished fifth at the 2020 World Junior Championships and went on to compete at the senior level, earning three consecutive fourth-place finishes at the U.S. Championships from 2023 to 2025. After his parents died in the January 2025 plane crash over the Potomac River, Naumov returned to competition and took over the youth program they had founded at the Skating Club of Boston.
At the 2026 U.S. Championships, Naumov won the bronze medal and earned a spot on Team USA for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina. He finished 20th in the men’s singles event at his Olympic debut. Later that year, he was announced as a competitor on season 5 of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.
Naumov has kept his personal life largely private and has not publicly revealed any relationships.
