About

Melissa Peterman is an actress and comedian. Peterman attended Minnesota State University where she majored in theater. After graduating, she acted in a multitude of local theater productions before landing her first on screen role in the Oscar-winning film Fargo as Hooker #2.

Following her film debut, Peterman struck gold after joining the cast of Reba as Barbra Jean Booker Hart. She remained with the cast until the show’s end in 2007. The actress earned her big break as a series regular on the sitcom, and it would later help her to star on the show Working Class. Though it earned high ratings, the show was canceled after its first season.

From 2012 to 2017, Peterman was a principal member of the cast of ABC’s sitcom Baby Daddy as Bonnie Wheeler. Following the show’s end, she starred on Young Sheldon as Brenda Sparks. In 2024, she was announced as a cast member on the dramedy Happy’s Place, in which she stars alongside Reba McEntire.

In 1999, the actress tied the knot with John Brady, and the couple welcomed son Riley in 2005.
