Noah Wyle (born Noah Strausser Speer Wyle) is an Emmy-nominated American actor best known for his role as Dr. John Carter on the long-running medical drama ER. Wyle attended The Thacher School in California and decided to pursue acting full time after attending an acting camp at Northwestern University.

Wyle began acting in the early ’90s, with small roles in films like A Few Good Men (1992) and Swing Kids (1993) before landing his breakout part on NBC’s ER in 1994. He remained on the series for 11 seasons, earning multiple Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

After ER, Wyle starred in TNT’s The Librarian film series and reprised the role in the spinoff series The Librarians, which aired from 2014 to 2018. He also led the sci-fi drama Falling Skies for five seasons and boasts later appearances on The Red Line and The Pitt.

In 2021, the Emmy nominee signed onto the cast of Leverage: Redemption as Harry Wilson.

Wyle married makeup artist Tracy Warbin in 2000. They welcomed children Owen (born in 2002) and Audrey (born in 2005) before divorcing in 2010. In 2014, he married Sara Wells and they welcomed daughter Frances in 2015.
