Patrick Muldoon

Patrick Muldoon was an American actor and musician best known for his roles in Days of Our Lives, Melrose Place and Starship Troopers. Born in San Pedro, California, Muldoon developed an early interest in sports and entertainment. He graduated from Loyola High School before attending the University of Southern California, where he played football for the USC Trojans while pursuing his bachelor’s degree in communications.

Muldoon made early television appearances in the early 1990s on shows like Who’s the Boss and Saved by the Bell before landing the role of Austin Reed on Days of Our Lives, quickly becoming a fan favorite. His success on daytime television led to primetime exposure with a recurring role on Melrose Place as Richard Hart. He transitioned to the big screen in the late ’90s with parts in films including Starship Troopers (1997) and Stigmata (1999), solidifying his place in Hollywood during the decade. Over the years, he went on to appear in projects including Broken Angel (2008), Badge of Honor (2015), American Satan (2017) and Murder at Hollow Creek (2024).

Throughout his career, Muldoon appeared in a range of TV movies and independent films and later pursued music as a member of the band The Sleeping Masses.

Muldoon was in a long-term relationship with Miriam Rothbart before his death.

The actor died on April 19, 2026, after suffering a heart attack. He was 57.
