Perrie Edwards is a British singer best known as a member of the girl group Little Mix. Born in South Shields, England, Edwards grew up in a musical family. She attended Radipole Primary School and Mortimer Community College before studying performing arts at Newcastle College.
Edwards rose to fame in 2011, after auditioning for The X Factor UK. Initially eliminated as a solo act, she was grouped with Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall to form Little Mix. The group went on to win the competition, becoming the first girl group to do so.
With Little Mix, Edwards released multiple hit albums including DNA (2012), Salute (2013), Get Weird (2015), Glory Days (2016), LM5 (2018) and Confetti (2020). The band scored numerous chart-topping singles, such as “Wings,” “Shout Out to My Ex” and “Sweet Melody,” earning multiple BRIT Awards, including the award for Best British Group, before announcing a hiatus in 2022. In 2023, Edwards began working on solo music while also launching her fashion brand, Disora. The following year, she released her debut single “Forget About Us,” which was followed by singles “Tears” and “You Go Your Own Way.”
Edwards was previously engaged to Zayn Malik from 2013 to 2015. She began dating professional soccer player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in 2016. The couple welcomed their first child, son Axel, in 2021, and announced their engagement the following year. Edwards and Oxlade-Chamberlain welcomed their second child, daughter Alanis, in 2026.
